Example of Senior Workshop Schedule
This intensive is crafted to elevate your technical proficiency, boost performance confidence, and ignite your passion for ballet. Whether you’re refining your skills or aspiring to new artistic heights, our workshop provides a supportive, dynamic environment to help you grow and shine.
Studio location: The Ave Studios, 14 Textile Ave, Warana QLD 4575
Day One Saturday 5th of April:
• 8:30–9:00: Registration
All dancers will be registered and shown around the studio.
• 9:00–9:30: Conditioning Class with Meg
All senior dancers will start their day with a conditioning session, warming up with stretching and strengthening exercises.
• 9:30–11:00: Senior Ballet Class with Alfie
In this ballet class we will work on refining your technique with a focus on barre, centre, and allegro work. In this class we will focusing on technique with a-particular focus on foot articular in preparation for allegro and pointe work and also coordination to help you master your technique.
• 11:00–11:15: Break
• 11:15–12:45: Focus Class with Alfie
An in-depth session with Alfie, refining essential technical elements through drills and exercises. In this class we will be particularly focusing on a variety of different turns including pirouettes from fifth, fouetté and lame ducks. We will also look at the designated techniques required to master grand allegro steps such as; Soda basques, grand jeté and entrelacé.
• 12:45–1:15: Lunch
• 1:15–2:45: Variation Class with Meg
Work on an age-appropriate variation. Seniors can tailor their performance—choosing to work on this variation on either pointe or on flat.
Day Two Sunday 5th of April:
• 8:45–9:00: Registration
• 9:00–9:30: Conditioning Class with Meg
All senior dancers will start their day with a conditioning session, warming up with stretching and strengthening exercises.
• 9:30–11:15: Senior Ballet Class with Meg
In this ballet class we will work on refining your technique in a class focused on barre, centre, and allegro work. In this class we will focusing on the use of different dynamics in your dancing, and finding your own individual artistry as a dancer .
• 11:15–11:30: Break
• 11:30–12:45: Point/Pre-Point Class with Meg
Enhance pointe technique with dedicated exercises to build strength and balance.
• 12:45–1:15: Lunch
• 1:15–2:30: Variation Class with Alfie
Further develop your variation and repertoire piece before showcasing to parents.
• 2:30–3:00: Variation Showcase & Q&A Session
Conclude the day with a performance showcase, with parents invited to watch. As well as this there will also be a Q&A session with Meg and Alfie—an opportunity for you to gain invaluable insights into the ballet world.
